A Take Away Show with Lei

[FR] Nous ouvrons cette série de films tournés durant le festival Les Suds, à Arles, par Vincent Moon cet été, avec une balade dans ses ruelles sanctifiées. Avec une prière à Marie, même, sous un grand laurier en fleurs, par Leï. Le duo sublime les traditions orales de Méditerranée et du Proche-Orient par son chant à quatre mains et deux voix qui porte la paroles des femmes d’âge en âge. Laurène Barnel et Carine Habauzit y dialoguent en polyphonies subtiles, mêlent comptines, berceuses et compositions originales qui racontent le féminin éternel, et son cycle lié à l’imaginaire des eaux. Et, tout comme celles du Rhône qui embrassent la petite Rome des Gaules que l’on aperçoit magnifiquement à la fin, elles continuent d’avancer, sans halte ni repos.

[ENG] We open this series of films shot during the festival Les Suds, à Arles, by Vincent Moon this summer, with a wandering through its sanctified alleyways. Even a prayer to Mary, beneath a great flowering laurel, sung by Leï. The duo exalts the oral traditions of the Mediterranean and the Middle East through their four hands and two voices, carrying the words of women across generations. Laurène Barnel and Carine Habauzit weave subtle polyphonies, blending lullabies, nursery rhymes, and original compositions that tell of the eternal feminine and its cycle tied to the imagination of water. And, like the Rhône embracing the “Little Rome of the Gauls,” glimpsed magnificently at the end, they keep flowing forward—without pause, without rest.
