« Sadegh arrives from Teheran, the same day we arrive from Paris. We meet in Konya, this Sufi intersection of the world. Rana invited him to join our exploration of ceremonies and circles during the entire Seb-I Arus, the week celebrating Rumi the Mevlana, founder of the whirling dervishes order. She told us - “nobody sings like Sadegh”. Dressed more like an American hip-hop artist than the heir of a long Sufi spiritual tradition, Sadegh seems to be shuffling the appearances easily. Armed with his tanbur, we saw him spending entire nights enchanting crowds at some of the night spots around town. But this time it was him, the time of a unique take, of a double dance, just him and I and that little something in between. »

A film of the collection “Impressions from Konya” - 10 short films on Sufi ceremonies in Konya, recorded in December 2023 during the Seb-i Arus, the week celebrating the 750 years of the voyage to the stars of Rumi, the Mevlana
